We are an interdisciplinary team comprised of educators, designers, artists, and students. Together we have shared our experiences and expertise to create an extraordinary learning tool that is strong in all areas of design, education, functionality, and usability.

The collaboration began like this:
We started with educators fantasizing about the perfect instructional tool. They sparked the imagination with criteria and wishes for a truly functional tool for both teachers and students. We (industrial designers and multi-media artists) then came up with concepts and preliminary product ideas which could meet most of their desires. Prototypes were created and tested to discover the true issues challenging a successful lesson for both a teacher and student. The designs were refined and tried again until we found a product which added value to the experience of both parties.

Once we developed a better understanding of how to communicate with students in multiple environments, as well as how to reduce the time demands and stress on the educators, we began working on the educational content. Practicing educators outlined the lesson criteria and story content. Multi-media artists envisioned and created the communication and functionality of the educators’ lessons. Students put the interactive lessons through rigorous tests of trial and error. Together, we have created a great tool to enhance guided reading instruction.
